Why we chose to start with education technology

Education is a field where effort doesn't always pay off visibly. We wanted software to help students put their effort where it matters.

Students' willingness to put in time is one of the most valuable resources in education. Yet we often see that time spent in places where it doesn't help much.

Effort doesn't always show

A student finishes an entire workbook, and their score barely moves. The problem isn't a lack of effort — it's not knowing which concept they're actually stuck on. Revision becomes "a few more questions can't hurt" rather than "I know what to work on next."

We didn't want to build a tool that makes students do more questions. We wanted one that makes every question count.

Why software?

Many problems in education are, at heart, problems of visibility: students can't see their weak spots, teachers struggle to follow everyone's progress, and parents can't see the learning process. Software is good at gathering scattered information and showing it to the right person at the right time.

That's why we believe technology's role in education isn't to replace teachers, but to make the learning process clearer.

From a question to a product

DOGTOR grew out of exactly this question. We linked questions to concepts so every practice session can answer "which concept needs work," then added AI problem-solving and game-like design so revision feels less like a chore.

Beyond education

Education is where we started, not where we stop. Building DOGTOR taught us a way of working: start from real people and contexts, test ideas quickly, and keep improving from feedback. We're now bringing that approach to other areas worth improving.
